This training is for you if you are looking to deepen your practice, learn proper alignment and understand the energetic intention behind the postures so you can align your Chakras and create more harmony. Learn about the thousands of years old wisdom and history of yoga, Patanjali’s 8 limbs of Yoga, the why behind meditation and the poses.

Details:

  • Each day of this immersive experience begins at 7am with breathwork, meditation, and movement.

  • $350 required to hold your spot and is non-refundable, even if you do not attend a course. The non-refundable deposit will be deducted from the remaining balance. This training will include:

  • Anatomy | major muscles, joints, bones relating to yoga postures, assists and modifications for pathologies, pregnancy and injuries

  • Asana | historical context, Sanskrit terms for poses, anatomical and alignment principles, sequencing

  • Biomechanics | types of movement, stabilization, safe movement practices, physical alignment

  • Ethics | comprehension of and responsibility for equity in the yoga practice, Yoga Sutras, accountability measures, self-reflections

  • History | the cultures, lineage and ‘styles’ of yoga, dates, the Vedas and other historical texts

  • Meditation | methods by lineage, Vipassana, Mudras, Mantras

  • Practicum | practice teaching, sequences with peers and teachers, feedback, mentorship

  • Pranayama + The Subtle Body | sequencing, safe practices, cleansing techniques, Ujjayi, Nadi Shodhana, Kapalabhati, the Chakras, Kriyas, effects of breathwork on the mind and body, historical context

  • Philosophy | relationship between Pranayama, Asana, the definition of yoga and key terms, familiarity with common texts [Yoga Sutras, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita]

  • Physiology | parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system, mind and body connections, digestive system, circulatory system, respiratory system and cardiovascular system relating to yoga

  • Professional Development | ethical commitments, a lifetime of learning and continued education avenues, general professionalism, liability, marketing and promoting your classes

  • Teaching Methodology | pacing, cues, sequencing, environment, class management

The fine print:

All workshops and Yoga Teacher Training tuition fees include a non-refundable administration fee of $350. Tuition balance payment must be paid in full 30 days prior to training commencement.

Cancellation policy: Refunds for withdrawal from a workshop/training are granted in full, less the $350 fee, up to 30 days prior to the start of the training. Refunds are not offered 30 days prior to the start of the training, however you may attend a future training within the next year (12 months). YTT fees will not be refunded for cancellations or withdrawal during training, and your payment is forfeited. Tuition balance payment must be paid in full 30 days prior to training commencement. If the balance payment is not settled by 30 days prior to training start, the held space will be released (cancelled) and deposit forfeited. If a minimum number of sign ups are not met for the training course and the course is postponed, paid tuition is offered as a credit towards the next training dates within a one year (12 month) grace period. Exceptions to our cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason. We do not offer credit for a student arriving late or leaving early to a training program, and if you miss any of the training you will be required to make it up prior to scheduled examinations.

Attendance is required. Any missed classes must be made up. Missing more than two hours may result in a person having to pay for and book extra time with an instructor.

If at any time during the training, you feel discomfort or strain, gently come out of the posture or position. You may rest at any time during the class. It is important that you listen to your body, and respect its limits on any given day. You should recognize that it is your responsibility to notify the instructor of any serious illness or injury before every class. You will not be required to perform any postures that may you are uncomfortable with.

You accept that neither the instructor, nor the hosting facility, nor the owners are liable for any injury or damages, to person or property, resulting from the taking the training. North American School of Yoga Science is not responsible for the safe-keeping of personal belongings.
