The North American School of Yoga Science is founded by physiotherapist, Dr. Brett Wade and occupational therapist Siri Marken, M.Ed. As yoga clinic owners with backgrounds in science, they saw an opportunity to teach yoga with an emphasis on science and in particular anatomy, biomechanics, pathology, and rehabilitation. While respecting the origins of the practice, Wade and Marken are adding to the traditional teachings with their own perspectives and backgrounds.
